Internship

If you have a passion for Youth Leadership, Children’s Ministry, Pastoral Care (in fact for any area of Christian ministry); then an internship at City Church Tauranga could be perfect for you.

At City Church Tauranga we believe that, for some people, an internship is a perfect opportunity to grow and develop as a Christian servant and leader. It's a combination of bible study, practical service, personal development and Kingdom adventure! A perfect opportunity to grow in character, in faith, in interpersonal skills and in leadership and ministry.

In conjunction with Alphacrucis New Zealand, City Church Tauranga offers three different internship majors; Youth Leadership, Children’s Ministry, and Pastoral Care.

Full Internship

A full internship involves two days per week of distance learning through Alphacrucis College in New Zealand, as well as two days per week of practical service in the area of your particular major. It’s the perfect way to develop a deeper understanding of biblical and theological issues as well as the nuts and bolts of day to day ministry.

Academic Supervision

You will receive full academic supervision with your first year of study being at Level 4 and leading to a Certificate in Christian Ministries. Year two is Level 5 study and leads to a Diploma in Christian Ministries.

Pastoral Supervision

In your practical service you will receive full pastoral supervision as you become a part of one of the incredible teams here at City Church Tauranga. You will be mentored, challenged and encouraged to be all God has called you to be. You will be treated as if a staff member of City Church Tauranga with all of the privileges, responsibilities, and expectations of a staff role.

You’ll be amazed at the life skills you develop, the personal growth you experience, and the incredible sense of satisfaction that comes from serving in God’s house. All of this will stand you in good stead for future ministry as well as for future study and employment in whatever area.

Practical Internship

A practical internship does not involve academic study and is built around two days per week of practical service in the area of your particular major.

Pastoral Supervision

Intake

Internships are one year or two year commitment. Applications for our February 2011 intake must be received by November 26th 2010.
